FNSI and Potholders!

This is what I worked on for the Friday Night Sew In.  I had hoped to get the borders done too, but I also had to do a lot of baking for a bake sale.  This quilt is for my son's 1st grade teacher who will retire at the end of this year.  Each student created a block for it.  My oldest son also had the same teacher for 1st grade.  She is pretty special to us.

I also received a special package in the mail this week!  It was my potholder pass 3 package from Karrie.  She is super talented!

Not only did she include potholders, but she also gave me two beautiful towels and a third potholder.  Thank you so much, Karrie!

potholders

Potholder Pass 3- it's not even the deadline and I actually have mine done.  Now that is a good feeling!  I just have to get to the post office and they will be on their cross country journey!

And I haven't posted for a long time, I missed Mama's Day.  Here are a couple of the beautiful creations I got last weekend.  I also got a really nice book of poems that my 9 year old wrote for me.  They made all of these at school.  I have really great kids with really great teachers!

clothes pins and some fabric

So, rumor has it that my pastor from my hometown church was in need of a clothes pin bag...not anymore.  I whipped this baby out last night.  I hope he will like it.  I tried to make it somewhat manly.  Now I wish that I had a clothes line so I could use one!  I love the smell of laundry fresh from the line!
If anyone is interested, I can probably come up with a tutorial, but I think just by looking at it you can tell how to do it.  It's easy.

Here are some of my recent purchases.  This stash shows that I am a "boy mom" with some fishermen at home.

And this is the stash that says "still hoping to be a girl mom"!

Isn't it cute??

Pay It Forward

I joined in the Pay It Forward fun from Pam's cool blog, Fairy Dust Musings.  I hope that three of you will join me in this fun adventure!  Sorry, but I'm only opening this to readers in the USA at this time.

1. The first 3 people to visit my blog and leave a comment saying they want to participate will receive a handmade gift from me, within the next year... (Probably much sooner than that, but you are supposed give everyone a year, because sometimes life gets in the way!) If you would like to give me a hint about some of hour favorite things or colors, then that's ok, too.

2. You MUST have a blog of your own to to participate in the PIF.

3. You must post about the PIF on your blog & offer the PIF challenge on your blog.

By accepting the Pay It Forward challenge, YOU agree to host a Pay It Forward to the first 3 people who sign up on your blog...you will then carry on the PIF by sending them a homemade gift within a year's time, and so it goes :)

I hope you will join me!
